There are many men who are unhappy with their penis length, thickness, and in some cases overall appearance. Fat transfer, with the patient’s own fat, provides a natural approach to increasing penis size. Also called “phalloplasty”, this procedure has the ability to provide a larger penis by transferring the patient’s own purified fat from one area of the body to the penile shaft.
Using the body’s own fat supply removes the risk of an allergic reaction and keeps the filler 100% natural. This procedure repurposes the patient’s own unwanted fat to increase penis girth. Since the fat injections are created from the patient’s excess body fat, there is nothing artificial involved. I usually enrich the fat with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the patient’s own blood, which helps to ensure that the injected fat cells thrive.
Next, I use a small cannula to inject the enriched fat throughout the shaft of the penis.
In the past I used fillers but I wasn’t happy because they move too much on the shaft of the penis, and some of the fillers that are more permanent would give hard lumps and cysts that were difficult to treat. To compensate and to reduce the fat absorption, I mix the fat with platelets to reduce the absorption and enrich the fat with mesenchymal stem cells and this way we have the best result because absorption is minimal and there is more new fat! Procedure can take between 1 to 2 hours under local anesthetic with or without sedation. There is no need for general anesthetic.
Results are typically long lasting, but in some cases they may not be permanent.
The long term success depends on many factors. For example, it is common for the body to reabsorb up to 30% of the transplanted fat cells. Fat necrosis (death of the fat cells) can also occur. A lot of experts in fat transfer state that up to 3-6 months 20-30% of the fat transferred will be lost but 60-70% and in some cases 80% of the fat survives for years as long as the patient undergoes a drastic weight reduction.
