What is Li-ECSWT?
Treating Erectile Dysfunction (ED) with Low-Intensity ExtraCorporeal Shockwave Therapy (Li-ECSWT)
Although it sounds scary Li-ECSWT is a very simple and none-invasive treatment that utilizes sound waves to treat Erectile Dysfunction.
It has been used in Europe and Asia for years to treat erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease. In fact, in Europe it is considered the gold standard for treating vasculogenic erectile dysfunction.
How does Li-ECSWT work?
The machine’s hand-piece is gently applied to the penis and moved up and down the shaft and side to side under the testicles. In the process of moving the hand piece, pulsatile acoustic sound waves are transmitted into the corpus cavernosum of the penis creating cellular trauma that leads to the release of growth factors. One of which is vascular endothelial growth factor which stimulates the production of new blood vessels, also called angiogenesis. The resulting new blood vessels create the conditions for better erections.
